Ungnyeo

Concept of Ungnyeo (웅녀, 熊女, lit. bear woman). With no other roles than the role of Korea's founder Dangun's mother, some scholars have thought she was a relic of a bygone era where northern immigrants took over a more matriarchal indigenous society. However, given the amount of possible diversity of ethnic groups in the peninsula and the idea that canonically, Dangun's reign was longer than humanely possible, I throw you this: What if Ungnyeo was the first Dangun of many, and rather than a takeover, this story represents a transition?
